We currently have the following
needs:
-
I am looking for several people
to help out with all the work that needs to be done. Here is the
list of people GFJ needs;
-
Administration Support - We
need people to help with a lot of the paperwork that goes along
with any mission. If you have the ability to file, organize,
fill out forms, create binders for information, and do internet
research, we can use you.
-
Fund Raising - We need to get
in the area of 5-7 people who want to give a few hours a week to
raising support for the work we need to do. It is pretty much a
fact that although faith is what drives us, we still have to
have money to do the work. Right now we are trying to raise
$45,000 to do the initial work for the first quarter of next
year. This includes several water purifiers for Haiti and
Honduras, a computer room for Honduras, two solar systems - one
for Haiti and one for Honduras, 5 solar lighting systems for
Haiti and airfares.
-
Web Programmer - Although I
can program the website, I would like someone who knows a bit
more than me to take it to the next level. I want to be able to
put online donations, a blog for myself and others, better photo
pages, ability to collect information on volunteers online, and
many other things. If you are a website programmer and want to
use some of your spare time for the Lord, let us know.
-
I need someone to coordinate
local activities with churches. One of the things that is vital
to this ministry is to work with the local churches. What I need
is someone who is organized, outgoing, and has a great
relationship with Christ. This person will spearhead the
relationship building with local churches and ministries.
-
I am looking for two more
technical volunteer positions. I need someone who can work with
the water purification. This is most likely a biologist or
hydrologist. I also need a solar power engineer or electrician.
-
We need about 25 large barrels.
These are the cardboard type that stand about 3 to 4 feet tall and
are usually brown in color. We need these to put at local churches
to facilitate collection of Compact Fluorescent Bulbs.
-
We also need lots and lots of
Compact Fluorescent Bulbs. We want to be able to ship several
hundred of these in the next 3 months to missions all over the
world. By replacing old incandescent type bulbs we can take a heavy
load off the generators that power some missions, and the electric
bill that runs others. Most places now have these bulbs for about a
dollar, and some areas have rebates that take the cost down to
either nothing, or close to that. Please leave the bulb in the
original packaging as it needs to be this way to import to other
countries. If you have any questions please
email me.
-
I am also looking for technical
volunteers that desire to help us with future projects. Specifically
I am looking for people familiar with setting up computer rooms and
networks. I need someone familiar with solar installations. I have
some of the design work done, but will need quite a bit more. I will also need some general labor people to open boxes
and assemble tables and the like.
-
I am also looking for people who
want to head up the light bulb collection and energy awareness
programs we want to start at local churches. If you feel you have a
desire to be part of our team "in the field" at your local church,
please
email me.
Thanks in advance to everyone
helping.
For information, please send us
