Proverbs 21:13

If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered.

Latest News -June 15, 2010: just got back recently from 2 weeks in Guadalajara Mexico visiting Eirene Ministries. My time was spent installing a network at the school, and assessing the needs there.

As such we have come up with the following needs we intend to acquire by the Grace of God by October 2010.

1. 7 laptops for the staff at the school.

2. 10 desktop computers, a network switch, and accompanying hardware to build a computer lab at the school.

3. 1 dual door commercial refrigerator for the Foster home at Comichines.

4. Children's chewable vitamins and calcium tablets.

We hope to raise donation in the amount of $8,000 to fund this. We also hope to get some of this donated if at all possible. Then in October Nathan Lewis, the pastor at Evergreen Church, and I will drive it all down to Mexico. I will stay there for a month to build the computer lab and help out at the foster home.

August 1, 2009: Thanks to Tina Yoder we now are listed with the State of Oregon as a non-profit agency. Now we are hoping to get the federal part done and be a full non-profit group very soon. We are currently finishing up the by-laws and then will submit them to the government for consideration. Please pray that this goes smoothly and quickly.

The heat we have been having here this summer (lots of days in the 100's) reminds me a lot of Haiti. As such I have started thinking more of this wonderful place, and I am hoping and praying God will allow me to go there soon. I am trying to meet with a pastor in Florida this month to talk about the work he is doing there, and possibly form some more connections to Haiti. There is still so much to be done there. As always, please keep them in your prayers.

Also, I have decided to devote myself to this non-profit full time now. I have been kind of letting it hang out there for some years with lots of interest that I have not had time for as I had other businesses that I was running. Well, as of last month I no longer am involved with the outside businesses, although I still do own one of them. But I have decided to take a back seat role in that, and a front seat one in this.

As always, if you would like to help in anyway, whether by time or donations, or know of companies that want to donate technical equipment (computers, software, solar panels, GPS systems, etc.) please let me know.

Geeks For Jesus is a non-profit agency working to bring communications and technology to third, and fourth, world countries. We began out of a need to establish a communication link between a mission, and an orphanage in Haiti. Now we have expanded to include efficient use of energy to lower the ongoing costs of missions, and other technologies that will help the missionary not only make the money go farther, but stay in touch with the rest of the world better.

If you are a missionary, we want to help you. But you have to let us know who you are!!

We also want to expand into putting teams together to build houses and other buildings in Haiti, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and possibly in Ethiopia starting in 2010. We are also looking at Places in Ecuador, Columbia and Mexico. We have had recent communications from a "friend on the family" in Guadalajara Mexico stating they may need help. Any friend of Christ is a friend of ours and we will gladly help where we can. We want to send the most help where it is needed the most. Please let us know if you would like to help, or if you have a group or youth group interested. If you are not a country or region on this list, please let us know and as we evaluate future missions we can try to include you as well.

Omoa

This is three of the little girls from the Omoa Children's home. The little girl in the lime green shirt and jeans in Deysi, the girl we sponsor for the last few years. (Of course this is three years ago, and she has grown quite a bit since this photo.)She is a little darling I have had the privilege of meeting and talking and playing with her several times. I can say a few things about these kids, they have the same needs and wants and desires as any kids I have met anywhere. They desire only to feel safe, to be loved and to feel important. Life line and the folks in Omoa, the pastor Juan Carlos and his wife Patty, do a great job of this. I would encourage anyone to take the time to sponsor one of the hundreds of kids that need sponsorship. Please check out our sponsor page.

If you are an organization working in third and forth world countries, and are in need of communications and energy efficiency ability, please email us. We will be happy to discuss our process with you.

We are also designing some solar powered devices, such as lighting, to deploy in areas where power is minimal and sun is plentiful. We will post more info on that as it becomes available.

Everything we design is made to be deployed on-site by local people in order to provide not only employment, but also build skill sets, self-esteem and workmanship in the local community. Click here to see our recent work.

Please check back as we build this site. We are still in the process of putting together what this site, and what the organization, will look like.

For information, please send us email.

We also have an affiliation with Evergreen Church in Beaverton Oregon. Please check them out as well. GREAT place with even better people. Click here!

Please check out IMPACT ministries out of Charlotte, NC. These folks are doing great work in the areas devastated by Hurricanes and floods in the last few years. If you or your church are looking for something to do, and wanting to give your time to those in need, click on the link below. These are hardworking Christian folk (they say that in the South, don't they?) and could always use a hand. Check out their website.
